Abstract

This text briefly discusses some specificities of texts by indigenous authors, succinctly pointing out that the emerging literature of Brazilian indigenous authorship not only “leans” on Western literary concepts, but uses them as a tool to constitute (or constitute) an indigenous literary system which, despite the strong Western influence, has a certain thematic singularity and has divergent conceptions, especially because the literary text is subject to the context of creation, the structural specificities of the text and the reader/receiver.
