The aim of the paper is posthumously to honor Ana Raquel Oliveira da Costa Possas. She was a mathematics teacher in the Basic Education of Territory of Amapá and the Mathematics Undergraduate Course at the Federal University of Amapá. We use narratives as a research method to writing the text based on memories of family, teachers, former students, and friends. The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on the professional and school life of the population of Amapá State, as trade and on institutions have closed due to restrictive measures to try to control the rate infected by a coronavirus (SARS-COV2). Children, women, and men diet because there is still no vaccine to immunize the Brazilian population. In this context of public health crisis, on April 29, 2020, the social network reported, in Macapá, the death of Ana Raquel Oliveira da Costa Possas. The public servant and teacher dedicated her life to mathematical education and worked in schools and the Federal University of Amapá. She created the Mathematics Teaching Laboratory and worked in research and orientation monographs. In addition to coordinating the Mathematics Undergraduate Course, being the first woman who held this position in university management and partnership with other profes-sors, they organized a book. In the training of mathematics teachers, love and respect for the human-guided the way she encouraged university students to build mathematical knowledge from the valori-zation of their knowledge, relationship with nature and culture.
