Abstract

This paper reports an extension course experience developed in continuing teacher trai-ning in the first semester of 2020 by the Federal University of Pampa. Based on the descriptive and qualitative methods, we produced the experience report article of an extension project. The proposed theme is part of the COVID-19 pandemic in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, a period in which Brazi-lians had to comply with social isolation measures and teachers prepare to work in remote teaching. The course was offered in Google Classroom, carrying initially with asynchronous activities, a virtual environment that enabled the holding of reading, discussions from comments presented by teachers, and tasks focused on teaching practice, in the period from April to July 2020, and with a workload of 40 hours. We noted the lack of habit of reading e-mails by some teachers. And also, the need to use different technological resources in university extension to ensure virtual communication between the project team and teachers. Due to this difficulty, we perform synchronous activities and online mee-tings to mobilize the understanding of the topics discussed in Google Classroom. Considering the local realities of public schools, course participants reflected on the possibility of using digital technologies for lesson planning in remote teaching from their experiences with students of basic education.
